Many would argue that the golden era of the nightclub aligned with that of disco music in the 1970s, and if there is an object that embodies this cultural moment it is the disco ball.

Perhaps these cultural moments only seem special today because they are out of reach, hanging alone in time, like a planet in the vacuum of deep space, like a disco ball forgotten in a quiet attic…

…but every now and then the loft hatch will open and sunlight can reach that planet once again, reflecting the night sky on to the walls and reminding us of the collective spirit in disco that we may never see again.

Even those of us who did not experience the nightclubs of the 1970s are powerless to the nostalgic pull of this music and can find ourselves temporarily sucked back into it’s orbit.
